Resources

This is a very incomplete list right now, but I’ll be adding to it regularly.

Websites:

Autistics.org
One of the best first resources for those looking for information about the ND movement.

neurodiversity.com
Lots and lots and lots of awesome information and links.

Autism Hub
The most comprehensive set of autism blogs I’ve found.

Murder of Autistics
For those of you who still don’t think the ND movement is necessary.

Getting the Truth OutNote: It’s down right now, but should be up again soon.
One of the best sites I’ve found for exposing the harm in the mentality that autism is a disease that needs to be cured. It’s written by Amanda Baggs, who I admire greatly. You have to read through the whole thing, or else you won’t get the point.

Books:
Sensory Integration and the Child by A. Jean Ayres
This book has been on the bookshelf here since I was four or five. It takes a very technical perspective, but is accessible, and it has become one of my family’s main resources.

All Cats have Asperger Syndromeby Kathy Hoopmann
It’s short, it’s sweet, it has cat pictures. It makes me smile. (Also, it ties in to my theory about autistic people and cats.
