I have nothing pithy, profound or even just bizarre to say today; instead, this sentence is for Jacob Grabe.

That is so sad 😦

I’m off to give my girls a hug.

I’m feeling the same way. Like I said in a comment to another post about this: this sort of thing shouldn’t happen to anyone, anywhere. At all. Ever.

You would have been blessed to know him. I was fortunate enough to have known Jacob for 3 years and have in my classes this year as his teacher. His family, rather his mother who is now alone, is in desperate need of financial help so there has been a fund set up in Jacob’s name at any of the Alpine bank locations in Grand Junction, CO. If you can help it would be greatly appreciated.

1sttimeblogger: Thank you for the information! I’ve added a link to your comment and Alpine Bank to this post.

I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s so much harder when it’s local, let alone someone you know.

Thank you so mcuh for taking the time to care about this wonderful boy and his mother. I will spread the word about your blog through email in hopes that others will see your kindness and blog as well. Thank you too, for adding a link to your page for Alpine Bank. I hope others will see and be able to help.

I also taught Jacob when he was in 1st grade. He and his family live on the street behind us. Jacob enjoyed tending to our yard in the summetime while we were on vacations. He especially loved finding the toads around the pond. He named everyone of them. He was a sweet boy. He will be greatly missed. It is soooo difficult to understand why this has happened. Please pray for the family, mother, grandparents, aunts and uncles. They are all heart sick. Jacob did love the Lord and told his mom a week or two before this happened that he was ready to be with Jesus.
